In communities where resources may be limited, it’s crucial to create learning spaces that inspire and uplift. Our classroom design for “Naum Râmniceanu” Primary School in Corbi, Argeș focuses on transforming a small, low-ceiling space into an environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and support. By emphasizing positive engagement, we’ve created a space where learning becomes an exciting and inclusive experience for every child.

Key elements that define the classroom’s engaging design:
1.Light Blue Shades and Mirrors for a Wider Perception
To maximize the limited space with a low ceiling, we’ve used light blue shades alongside strategically placed mirrors to visually expand the room and enhance its sense of openness. These design elements work together to create an airy, inviting atmosphere that feels larger, more dynamic, and free.
2.Pinning Areas on the Walls
The walls are equipped with dedicated pinning areas where students can display their work, ideas, and inspirations. This dynamic feature allows the classroom to evolve with the students, giving them the opportunity to take ownership of their environment and engage with one another’s projects.
3.Reduced Classroom Capacity for Intimate Learning
With a reduced capacity, this classroom is designed to facilitate more personalized, one-on-one interactions between students and teachers. Smaller groups foster collaboration, ensure tailored support for each student, and create a more focused and nurturing learning environment.
This classroom is not just a place to learn—it’s a space where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to grow and explore their potential. The addition of mirrors along with the light blue tones gives a clear sense of how space perception is enhanced, making the classroom feel more open and welcoming.
The interior design of educational spaces has a great responsibility for its active contribution to the learning process.
This classroom project is intended for the zero class of “Naum Râmniceanu” Primary School in Corbi, Argeș and is part of the program “A classroom like home” developed by Procter & Gamble and dm in collaboration with Pavoni Studio. For yet another academic year we can see that the transformation of education is always possible if we are willing to take small steps.
